Shukr is your response to what Allah has given. Ridā is your response to what He has not given, or has taken away. In ease, shukr prevents arrogance. In hardship, ridā prevents despair. Together they produce a heart whose peace cannot be touched by circumstances.\\n\\nThey also feed each other. Genuine shukr opens your eyes to hidden blessings even in hardship, making ridā easier.
