By the end of 2024, I started feeling less connected to Islam, though I continued trying to improve. I observed part of Ramaḍān and prayed during that time. After Ramaḍān in 2025, I largely paused for most of the year, though I would still read Qurʾān occasionally, and later in the fall I resumed praying somewhat.\\n\\nI tend to pause in order to understand what I truly believe, if that makes sense. This month, I have prayed intermittently, but I still do not feel a strong connection. I do have respect for Islam, I do not want to walk away from it, and I want to improve, even if only gradually. What advice would you give in this situation?\\n\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"Faith naturally fluctuates. Even the most pious Muslims sometimes feel like hypocrites when their spirituality wavers. Don't let these fluctuations deter you from constantly seeking a deeper connection with your Lord, because Allah's doors are always open, and He will not give up on a believer; especially one such as yourself, who feels the pain of distance from Him.\\n\\nWe sometimes want to feel before we act; however, it often works the opposite way: the feelings follow the action, the fruit follows the labor, the relief follows the pain.\\n\\nTherefore, continue to pray, read Quran, and do the right thing, even when your spiritual battery needs recharging. You don't need to push yourself too hard; a little effort from us goes a long way. Allah tells us that if we walk to Him, He runs to us.\\n\\nDon't overwhelm yourself. Commit to the five obligatory prayers and any amount of Quran; even one page a day, or five minutes of dhikr and reflection. Small, consistent actions are better than intense bursts followed by nothing.\\n\\nSeek knowledge that softens your heart and draws it toward its Maker.\\n\\nRead books or listen to lectures about the spiritual aspects of Islam and self-reform (tazkiyah).\\n\\nLearn about the Prophet's ﷺ life and the early Muslims.\\n\\nAlso, try connecting with other Muslims through small gatherings of dhikr, reflection, and brotherhood.\\n\\nFinally, continue wanting to improve, regardless of where you see yourself. Don't turn away from this path, even if you have to crawl it. As long as you are trying, Allah's support is with you.\\n\"}]}","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fff0b76658b4c232b60","tag":"Worship: Other","count":54},{"_id":"668d9ff10b76658b4c2329c4","tag":"Contemporary Life: Converts","count":38}],"createdOn":"2026-02-06T21:09:10.868Z"}
