I have certain “scenarios” or calamities in my heart that I mentally return to many times a day. When good things happen, I worry about when I might fall into those calamities. I want to release the tight grip I have on conceptions of safety and comfort.\\n\\nThe calamity is that one day the government will rip apart my family and torture me, and I will not be able to bear the pain of loneliness and heartbreak. I really struggle and this fear lives in my mind constantly. I see my husband, who has much more strength when he hears traumatic stories or addresses these fears with me. His logic is great, and I subscribe to it, but it doesn’t overcome the paralyzing fear I feel. I am already suffering mentally from this fear without even encountering it.
