For example, I know someone who feels constant anxiety and sadness because he’s shorter than average. His fears and agony are justified by what he sees online, where many women talk negatively about his body type. He sees how much harder it is for people like him to be accepted, especially in terms of marriage. Taller people have it easier. Better looking people have it easier. It’s the same with women who hate their noses or other features, because society treats them negatively for it. Some women have these issues and others don't.\\n\\nWhy does Allah give some people a harder test than others, especially in things they didn’t choose and can’t control? Some people never even think about these things, while others suffer for years. If you take away the religious lens, it just seems like cold, random bad luck. These things somehow bother me, but I feel like there has to be a deeper wisdom behind it.\\n\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"There are many aspects of our lives that are given to us without any say on our part: our gender, height, skin color, facial features, family, ethnicity, and nationality. All of these are granted by Allah; they are not earned. And because they are not earned, they carry no weight in the sight of Allah and will be completely irrelevant in the Hereafter.\\nSo then, why do these differences exist? Simply because this is how Allah designed the world. We weren’t given a choice in the matter. Our part is to make the best of what we’ve been given. There is no benefit in constantly asking “why” or “why not”; it doesn’t change anything. This world was never meant to be perfectly fair or comfortable. It was created as a place of tests and trials. That’s by Divine decree.\\n\\nNone of these outward features are meant to define us or represent our worth. In fact, they are worthless in the sight of Allah. It’s only we, as human beings, who assign value and meaning to them. Allah says:\\n\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"bold\":true},\"insert\":\"O mankind! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most God-conscious of you. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. \"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://quran.com/49/13\",\"bold\":true},\"insert\":\"(Quran 49:13)\"},{\"insert\":\"\\n\\nThe Prophet ﷺ said: \"},{\"attributes\":{\"italic\":true},\"insert\":\"“Allah does not look at your appearance or your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds.” \"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://sunnah.com/muslim:2564c\",\"italic\":true},\"insert\":\"(Muslim)\"},{\"insert\":\"\\n\\nSo, what is the wisdom behind all these differences? It’s part of the greater design of this temporary world. It’s part of the struggle that shapes us, grows us, and lifts us spiritually. Allah ﷻ tells us in the Qur’an that this life is a test. And the different forms of hardship and discomfort we go through are meant to prepare us for the next stage of our journey, the eternal life to come. How could we truly savor the joy of the Hereafter if we had never tasted sorrow in this world? How could we recognize wholeness if we had never felt the sting of being broken? Without experiencing the pain of imperfection, would we yearn for the Perfect ﷻ? They are not punishments. They are preparations. This is not just evolution. It’s not a matter of luck. It’s all part of a deliberate, Divine plan.\\n\\nAnd that’s the simple truth. Complaining doesn’t help, because who would we complain to? If we don’t like how this world is set up, where exactly do we go? Can we move to another one?\\nThis world isn’t supposed to be perfect. It’s supposed to wake us up and push us to seek the One who is.\\n\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"underline\":true,\"bold\":true},\"insert\":\"Related questions:\"},{\"insert\":\"\\nBeauty and Beauty Standards in Islam:\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/668d9fe30b76658b4c232815\"},\"insert\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/668d9fe30b76658b4c232815\"},{\"insert\":\"\\nMocking or Rejecting People Based on Skin Color:\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/668da03a0b76658b4c233188\"},\"insert\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/668da03a0b76658b4c233188\"},{\"insert\":\"\\nCombatting Self-Hate:\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/67eebaba20e7dc3072c2ab96\"},\"insert\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/67eebaba20e7dc3072c2ab96\"},{\"insert\":\"\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/681a62655819abe90b9e89d2\"},\"insert\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/681a62655819abe90b9e89d2\"},{\"insert\":\"\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/6771db79091df93d76108b5c \"},\"insert\":\"https://www.carolinaqa.com/q/6771db79091df93d76108b5c \"},{\"insert\":\"\\n\"}]}","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fe50b76658b4c232859","tag":"Aqeedah: Allah ﷻ‎","count":66},{"_id":"668d9fe00b76658b4c2327ba","tag":"Women: Beauty","count":54},{"_id":"686c05975bca77ccedff9483","tag":"Health: Mental & Emotional","count":28},{"_id":"668da0230b76658b4c232f2c","tag":"Men: Other","count":23},{"_id":"668d9fe50b76658b4c232862","tag":"Qadr","count":6}],"createdOn":"2025-07-22T02:24:34.238Z"}
