I’ve always had that thought and it’s an honest statement. It’s not that I’m depressed or suicidal, it’s just that on a fundamental level, I would’ve preferred to never have existed. Not because I want to die, it’s that existence itself feels like a burden I never asked for. Though I’m extremely grateful for everything Allah has blessed me with, I didn’t ask to exist or for this consciousness. And while I try to make the most of it, the thought still lingers: if nonexistence was an option, I would’ve chosen that every time.\\n\\nMy question is: why was I created?\\n\\nI understand our purpose and everything, but why did it have to be me - someone who doesn’t wish to exist and didn’t ask for it? Couldn’t Allah just have created someone who overall wanted to be brought into existence? The best answer I can come up with is that 1.) Allah can do as he wills, and 2.) that in the end, if I die upon tawhid, then, even if I spend countless years in Jahannam, once I enter Jannah, I’ll be content and there would then be no burden to an existence that was out of my control.\\n\\nI feel that there must be a better answer as this conclusion doesn’t resolve anything. It’s like saying “oh well”—as if there is no answer and you just have to accept it.\\n\\n\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"Existence feels like a burden when it’s disconnected from the One who gave it. But once the soul reconnects with its Maker, existence gains meaning, and the heart becomes grateful for having been brought into being.\\n\\nYou were created by an All-Willing, All-Powerful, All-Knowing God, not by accident, and not as a punishment, but by Divine choice. If you want to taste the sweetness of your own existence, you have to return to the One who made it sacred. The soul was not created for this world; it is simply passing through. That’s why this worldly stage of the soul’s journey can feel empty, meaningless, and burdensome without a strong spiritual bond with the Creator. But when that connection is present, the soul begins to remember its place in the universe. It finds peace, it finds purpose, and it begins to revel in each moment, overflowing with praise and gratitude for the gift of existence.\\n\"}]}","tags":[{"_id":"686c05975bca77ccedff9483","tag":"Health: Mental & Emotional","count":28}],"createdOn":"2025-07-22T01:50:49.625Z"}
