InShaAllah, I am trying to fix this. I have been thinking to myself that the awliya and sheikhs I know would be disappointed and angry if they saw me. I think I made tawbah before I slept. Then, I had a dream where I saw two companions / awliya (one of which I know). I felt in my heart that they were pious people. I sensed that they were on a journey and only stopped by where i was for a couple minutes. The one I know was laughing and smiling at me. He told me to make tawbah to Allah. The other sat down on a rock near us. He was quiet and more to himself.\\n\\nAre there any hidden meanings in this dream? Do you have any advice for ways to slowly disconnect from one’s lower nafs and desires?\\n\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"It seems like a pleasant dream centered around your repentance. There are clear signs of hope, acceptance, and divine care. The fact that the two figures were from among the awliyāʾ may be a reflection of your love and reverence for the righteous. Their different demeanors might symbolize the dual forces that often guide us toward return: an external reminder that encourages and awakens, and an internal force that calls us inward toward reflection and remorse.\\n\\nThe fact that they only paused for a moment may point to the fleeting nature of spiritual opportunities, moments of divine nearness that come and go quickly, waiting for us to respond. This is echoed in the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ:\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"italic\":true},\"insert\":\"\\\"إن لربكم في أيام دهركم لنفحات، ألا فتعرضوا لها\\\" \"},{\"attributes\":{\"align\":\"right\",\"direction\":\"rtl\"},\"insert\":\"\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"italic\":true},\"insert\":\"\\\"Indeed, your Lord has breezes in the days of your life, so expose yourselves to them.\\\" \"},{\"insert\":\"\\n\\nThese breezes are divine openings, periods when Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and closeness become especially accessible. Your dream may well be one of those breezes, sent to stir your heart gently back toward Allah. The key is not to let it pass unnoticed.\\n\\nAs for how to begin weakening the nafs and returning to Allah: start with tawbah. It’s the doorway to all spiritual restoration. Then make time for khalwah (solitude) to reflect and be present with your Lord, even if it’s just a few minutes each day. Free yourself from distraction, and allow that space to become sacred.\\n\\nAlso, be deliberate about limiting your exposure to social media and digital noise. Set boundaries and stick to them. Replace idle scrolling or empty socilaizing with dhikr, a fixed daily portion that you commit to. It doesn’t need to be long; the key is to be consistent.\\n\\nAnd finally, as your dream illustrated, righteous company is important. Try to surround yourself with people who remind you of Allah. Join a class with a friend and spend time reviewing knowledge together. This type of companionship creates momentum, and your soul will find strength in it.\\n\"}]}","tags":[{"_id":"668da0320b76658b4c2330a7","tag":"Worship: Tazkiyyah","count":87},{"_id":"668da0390b76658b4c233170","tag":"Seerah: The Sahabah","count":17},{"_id":"668da04a0b76658b4c233349","tag":"Unseen: Dreams","count":16}],"createdOn":"2025-06-07T23:17:33.104Z"}
