Prayer time comes in, and Salah doesn’t even cross my mind. I’ve never had this issue before. When I do pray, I feel like I’ve begun really lacking khushoo. I’m not sure what the cause is. What are some solutions to this problem?\\n\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"The fact that you’re noticing this issue and seeking a solution shows that you care, and that’s already a step toward improvement, in shā’ Allah. Forgetting to pray entirely, especially when it wasn’t an issue before, could be a sign of distraction, either from worldly preoccupations, an internal spiritual dip, or even a form of laziness that has crept in unnoticed. Shayṭān works subtly, and one of his tactics is to make us delay or forget what connects us to Allah the most.  \\n\\nOne way to address this is by strengthening your awareness of ṣalāh times. Set multiple reminders or alarms if needed, not just on your phone but mentally as well. When you wake up, remind yourself: \\\"I have five meetings with Allah today, and nothing is more important than them.\\\" \\n\\nReviving the meaning behind ṣalāh can also help. If you find yourself praying on autopilot, take time outside of prayer to reflect on what you’re saying. Read about the meanings of Sūrah al-Fātiḥāh, the tashahhud, and the adhkār in ṣalāh. When you remind yourself of what you’re saying, it can reignite your focus.  \\n\\nChanging your pre-prayer routine may also make a difference. Sometimes, we rush into salah without preparing our hearts for it. Try making wuḍūʾ with presence, sitting for a moment before standing for prayer, and consciously reminding yourself, \\\"I am about to stand before my Lord.\\\" If your mind is scattered with dunya-related matters, take a moment to declutter your mental space before prayer. Take deep breaths, slow down, and remind yourself that nothing is more urgent than this moment with Allah.\\n\\nAt the same time, don’t underestimate the power of duʿāʾ. Ask Allah to grant you presence and humility in ṣalāh. The Prophet ﷺ would say, \\\"\"},{\"attributes\":{\"italic\":true},\"insert\":\"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a heart that does not have khushū\"},{\"insert\":\"ʿ\\\" [\"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://sunnah.com/nasai:5470\"},\"insert\":\"Nasa'i\"},{\"insert\":\"]. Recognizing that khushūʿ is a gift from Allah helps us turn to Him in need of it. And reconnecting with the Qurʾān and dhikr throughout the day can also help nourish your heart, making it easier to find focus in prayer.  \\n\\nAbove all, try to view ṣalāh as a lifeline, not a task. Instead of seeing it as something you have to do, try to reframe it as something you get to do. Imagine if you were deprived of ṣalāh. How lost would you feel? The fact that Allah still allows you to stand before Him is a mercy in itself. This is a phase, and with effort and sincerity, in sha’ Allah, you’ll overcome it. Don’t let guilt paralyze you. Keep striving, keep asking Allah for help, and take each salah as an opportunity to realign your heart with Him.\\n\\nMay Allah grant you steadfastness and make your ṣalāh a source of comfort and connection.\\n\"}]}","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fe30b76658b4c23281e","tag":"Salah: Other","count":138},{"_id":"668d9ff20b76658b4c2329d9","tag":"Worship: Intention","count":103},{"_id":"668da0320b76658b4c2330a7","tag":"Worship: Tazkiyyah","count":87},{"_id":"668d9fe30b76658b4c232826","tag":"Worship: Etiquettes","count":79}],"createdOn":"2025-05-08T20:59:53.207Z"}
