We pray, fast, etc. but besides acts of worship like those, what do we do? We go to work, eat, pray, go to jummah, but what should we be going towards in this life? What should our goals in life be?\\n\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"That’s not a basic question at all—it’s actually one of the most important ones a person can ask. At its core, our purpose in life is to worship Allah in everything we do. But worship isn’t just limited to prayer and fasting; it’s a way of life that encompasses our character, our work, our relationships, and even how we rest. The Prophet ﷺ was the best example of how to live a balanced life—one filled with devotion to Allah, service to others, and constant self-improvement.\\n\\nYour goal should be to seek Allah’s pleasure in whatever path you take. Whether it’s through seeking knowledge, supporting your family, helping your community, or excelling in your work with sincerity, every action can become an act of worship if done with the right intention.\\n\\nBut this journey isn’t passive—it requires submission. To truly know and worship Allah means to live according to His divine guidance, aligning our actions, intentions, and priorities with what He has commanded. It requires constant purification of the heart—removing arrogance, greed, envy, and all negative traits—while cultivating sincerity, humility, gratitude, and love. It also requires putting oneself in the service of creation, for how can one claim to seek Allah while neglecting the needs of those around them?\\n\\nAt the same time, we must recognize that we do not worship Allah to gain worldly benefits, nor to accumulate rewards alone. We worship Him for His own sake, because He is worthy of worship. If we attach our worship to external desires—whether it be paradise, relief from hardship, or even a spiritual high—we are not truly seeking Allah, but rather what we hope to gain from Him. As Rumi so beautifully said: \\n\\n\"},{\"attributes\":{\"italic\":true},\"insert\":\"\\\"It is He who is sought on His own account and desired for His own sake, not for anything else. Since God is beyond all, better than all, nobler than all, and subtler than all, how could He be desired for the sake of something lesser than Him? So\"},{\"insert\":\" \"},{\"attributes\":{\"italic\":true,\"bold\":true},\"insert\":\"‘Unto Him is the final End’ [\"},{\"attributes\":{\"link\":\"https://quran.com/en/an-najm/42\",\"italic\":true,\"bold\":true},\"insert\":\"Quran 53:42\"},{\"attributes\":{\"italic\":true,\"bold\":true},\"insert\":\"]\"},{\"insert\":\".\"},{\"attributes\":{\"italic\":true},\"insert\":\" Once they have reached Him, they have attained their complete objective, beyond which one cannot pass.\\\"\"},{\"insert\":\"\\n\\nAnd even in our worship and purification, we must not fall into the illusion that we are doing anything for Allah or giving anything to Him. What can we possibly offer the One who owns everything? Our prayers, our efforts, and our struggles do not add to His greatness; rather, they refine us, allowing us to realize our dependence upon Him. Worship is not a transaction—it is a recognition that we are nothing without Him.\\n\\nThis is not a simple task, nor is it one that happens overnight. It is a lifelong journey of refinement, struggle, and growth. Every test, every hardship, every moment of ease is part of the path Allah has laid out for us to draw closer to Him. The purpose of this life is not simply to reach a destination but to walk this path with sincerity and effort—to strive, fall, rise again, and keep moving forward.\\n\\nSo instead of just going through the motions of life, ask yourself:\\n- How can I get closer to Allah in what I do?\\n- How can I remove what distances me from Him?\\n- How can I leave a positive impact?\\n- How can I prepare for the Akhirah while still fulfilling my responsibilities in the dunya?\\n\\nBy making these questions the foundation of your life, every moment—whether in worship, work, or rest—becomes part of a meaningful and purposeful journey toward Allah.\\n\"}]}","tags":[{"_id":"668da0320b76658b4c2330a7","tag":"Worship: Tazkiyyah","count":87}],"createdOn":"2025-05-08T20:56:49.227Z"}
