Where should we start from at the beginning of the month of Ramadan and continue on towards as the month progresses?\\n\\nI ask because this year I don’t think I will be able to make the Taraweeh prayers at the masjid very often due to work. I am planning to pray Taraweeh by myself at home, and I am wondering where I should read from and how best to make use of this time while not being a strong reciter of the Qur’an. I often stumble over long ayahs or ayahs with rich, difficult vocabulary.\\n\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"May Allah bless you for your commitment to praying Tarawih. Indeed, praying Tarawih at home is in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.  \\n\\nSince you mentioned that you are not fluent in reciting the Quran and sometimes stumble over longer or more complex verses, a practical approach is to recite from the shorter surahs towards the end of the Quran. You may recite from memory or from a mushaf (physical copy), as this is permissible according to the Shafi'i school, provided you avoid excessive movements (defined as three or more consecutive movements of a major limb like the hands).  \\n\\nA simple structure to follow is to pray twenty rak‘ahs, reciting the following surahs in order, one per rak‘ah:  \\n\\nAd-Duha, Ash-Sharh, At-Tin, Al-Qadr, Al-Zalzalah, Al-Adiyat, Al-Qari'ah, At-Takathur, Al-Asr, Al-Humazah, Al-Fil, Quraysh, Al-Ma'un, Al-Kawthar, Al-Kafirun, An-Nasr, Al-Masad, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas.  \\n\\nFor Witr, which is three rak‘ahs, you may recite Al-A‘la in the first, Al-Kafirun in the second, and in the third rak‘ah, recite Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas.  \\n\\nThis method allows you to complete Tarawih without feeling overwhelmed by long passages. Additionally, you can use this time to reflect on the meanings of the surahs you are reciting, increasing your connection with the Quran. \\n\\nMay Allah grant you ease and reward you abundantly for your dedication.\\n\"}]}","tags":[{"_id":"668d9ffe0b76658b4c232b36","tag":"Salah: Taraweeh","count":23}],"createdOn":"2025-04-04T02:34:51.446Z"}
