Can one have multiple credit cards to build credit?\"}]}","question":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"I’ve heard that using a credit card’s travel rewards may not be allowed if you can only redeem them through purchasing a bank product. Would that mean that if a credit card, after accruing points gets you a discounted flight with the only caveat being that you have to purchase the flight through that bank’s travel portal, this would not be allowed? Also, would it be allowed to have more than 1 credit card for the sake of building credit so that you can be in a better position to rent or buy a house in the future?\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"I don't see why they wouldn't be allowed if you can only use them through the bank's portal. As for having multiple credit cards, I believe it wouldn't be permissible unless there's a genuine need. While building credit is a valid need, to the best of my knowledge, having multiple credit cards is not a significant factor in improving your credit score. Therefore, it may not be a strong enough reason to justify having multiple cards.
