For example, asking Allah to grant a high score after one has taken an exam. Or at this point, is the Duaa ineffectual because we can’t effect change on the past?","answer":"As muslims we believe that Allah’s Knowledge is without beginning, immutable, free from error, and all-encompassing. Therefore, everything that happens aligns with this Divine Knowledge. However, we are not granted access to this knowledge, so pondering over it serves no purpose. Instead, we simply pray to Allah for everything that we need without speculating. In your example, before taking the exam, you pray to Allah for a good grade, and even after taking the exam, you continue to pray to Allah for a good grade. There is no reason for you to stop and dwell on whether you were destined to receive a poor grade because that knowledge remains unseen. No matter how long you contemplate, unless Allah discloses it to you, it will remain hidden. Our duty is to pray, do good deeds, have a positive opinion (ḥusn ẓann), and continue praying. There are numerous hadiths of the prophet (ṣalla-l-lāhu ʿalaihi wa sallam) warning us against speculating in these matters.","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fe30b76658b4c232829","tag":"Worship: Dua","count":109},{"_id":"668d9fe50b76658b4c232859","tag":"Aqeedah: Allah ﷻ‎","count":66}],"createdOn":"2024-07-09T20:42:23.196Z"}
