If it’s not a Friday and you hear the duhr adhan, is it ok to delay duhr until later so that you can depart for travel and shorten and combine duhr and asr?  Or should you pray duhr in full since the time came in before you actually departed for travel?","answer":"When the time for salah begins, it's not compulsory to immediately perform the prayer, though it's highly recommended. However, what is obligatory is to form the intention to offer the prayer at a later time. Thus, if the time for Dhuhr enters and you don't pray it immediately but plan to do so later, that is permissible. Later, if you happen to be traveling when you decide to perform the prayer, shortening and combining it are permitted. The difference with Jumua arises because it requires a  congregation; it can't be prayed individually at one's discretion.","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fea0b76658b4c2328e8","tag":"Salah: Traveling","count":65},{"_id":"668da00c0b76658b4c232ca7","tag":"Salah: Timings","count":52}],"createdOn":"2024-07-09T20:41:47.745Z"}
