Or does it need to be removed for Wudu to count? For clarity sake, let’s say in this scenario the product touches both the hair and the scalp / skin of the head.","answer":"It depends on whether the product forms a thick or solid layer over the hair and/or scalp, acting as a barrier. Hair oil is not problematic, but hair spray or gel might be. I don't have first-hand experience with these products, but I've seen hair with gel, and it can harden and act as a barrier. That said, assuming the hair product does form a barrier, according to the Shafi'i school, the minimum requirement for valid wudhu is to wipe a small portion of the hair or scalp. \n\nWhen using these products, don't apply them to your entire head; leave a small portion to wipe for wudhu. It's important to note that the hair wiped must be within the limits of the head. If you have long hair, you must wipe the part of your hair that is on your head and not what hangs below the limit of the head. This is because Allah commanded us to wipe our heads, not our hair. InshaAllah this clarifies the issue.","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fe40b76658b4c232837","tag":"Tahara: Wudu","count":117}],"createdOn":"2024-07-09T20:41:19.932Z"}
