In the privacy of my own home, as a woman, is it obligatory to wear a headscarf (Khimar) while engaging in post-Salah Zikr? Additionally, would there be any impact on the reward if I choose to remove the Khimar while sitting for Zikr in the same spot on the Musallah? I know staying in the same place reaps more Ajar.","answer":"Covering oneself is optimal but not a prerequisite for engaging in dhikr or reading the Quran.\n\nRegarding the concept of reward, I encourage us to delve deeper beyond the notion of transactional compensation where good deeds are traded for spiritual currency (ḥasnāt). While rewards are indeed significant, they should not be the sole focus of our devotional acts (ʿibadāt). The ultimate objective is to deepen our connection with our Creator, fortifying our bond and embracing the spiritual growth that follows. In a hadith qudsi, Allah, the Exalted, says, \n\n\"My servant does not draw nearer to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary works, until I love him. When I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. If he were to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and if he were to seek refuge in Me, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant: he dislikes death, and I dislike hurting him.\" [Bukhari]","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fe30b76658b4c232829","tag":"Worship: Dua","count":109},{"_id":"668d9ff20b76658b4c2329d9","tag":"Worship: Intention","count":103},{"_id":"668d9fe30b76658b4c232826","tag":"Worship: Etiquettes","count":79},{"_id":"668d9fde0b76658b4c232779","tag":"Women: Modesty","count":60}],"createdOn":"2024-07-09T20:41:08.512Z"}
