I’ve heard that you shouldn’t but I was confused on whether it’s allowed or not.","answer":"Regarding images, there's a scholarly debate on the permissibility of 2D images like drawings, paintings, and photographs. Assuming you adhere to the opinion allowing such images, another crucial consideration is the content of the image itself. Reflect on who or what is depicted on the poster and your intention for keeping it in your room. A devout Muslim should safeguard their faith and morals by carefully selecting their influences and role models. Choose those who occupy a place in your heart wisely, as they will inevitably influence you.\n\nThe Prophet (peace be upon him) likened good company to a perfume seller and bad company to a blacksmith. Just as a perfume seller may give you perfume for free, sell it to you, or at least let you enjoy its fragrance, a blacksmith could inadvertently ruin your clothes or subject you to the unpleasant smell of his work. [Sahih Muslim]\n\nIn other words, whether we realize it or not, those whom we keep as company will influence us one way or another. For this reason as well, the prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned us that, \"A person will be upon the ways of his friends, so be mindful of whom you befriend.\" [Bukhari&Muslim]\n\nI sincerely advise you to think about the following questions:\n-What qualities attract you to this person, prompting you to hang their poster in your room?\n-What values does this person embody?\n-What kind of lifestyle and character does this person promote?\nIs this a person you would want your children to look up to and emulate?\n\nReflect on the Day of Judgment, when you stand before your Lord. Would this person be someone you'd want by your side? If not, perhaps it's best to reconsider hanging their poster.\n\nMay Allah instill in your heart profound love and utmost reverence for Him, His prophets, the companions, and all who walk the righteous path they paved.","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fee0b76658b4c232978","tag":"Contemporary Life: Art","count":43}],"createdOn":"2024-07-09T20:41:02.710Z"}
