I am fearful of displeasing Allah and I am fearful of his punishment of course. But I truly love Allah. His name makes me more happy than scared. Am I doing something wrong? Or feeling something wrong?\"}]}","answer":"{\"ops\":[{\"insert\":\"Yes, we should be fearful of Allah's punishment but we should also be hopeful of His Mercy. In terms of hearing the message to fear Allah everywhere, I believe it's something lost in translation. The word that is often repeated is taqwa, which does not translate to fear in Arabic. The word for fear in Arabic is khawf. Often the word taqwa is translated to fear but the more accurate translation is piety. Having taqwa means being a person of piety. Being someone whose body, mind, and heart are in obedience to Allah. Fear can be a motivator just as love is a motivator. Love is obviously a more powerful motivator than fear. You will not find the word khawf(fear) used very often in the Quran, you will instead find the word taqwa.\\n\\nIn fact, we should strive to make love the more prevalent factor in our relationship with Allah. As Allah (swt) said, if we truly love Him and want to earn His love, then we must follow the way of His messenger (pbuh): Say (O Prophet):\"},{\"attributes\":{\"bold\":true},\"insert\":\" 'If you do love Allah, follow me; Allah shall love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.\\\" [3:31]\"},{\"insert\":\"\\n\\nAlso, as believers, we should be in constant yearning to meet Allah, not fear, as Allah said in a sahih hadith narrated by Bukhari: \\\"If My Servant loves the meeting with Me, I too love the meeting with him; and if he dislikes the meeting with Me, I too dislike the meeting with him.'\\\" So, if hearing Allah's name makes you more happier than fearful, then I congratulate you and ask you to pray for those of us who have not attained this blessing.\"}]}","tags":[{"_id":"668d9fe50b76658b4c232859","tag":"Aqeedah: Allah ﷻ‎","count":66}],"createdOn":"2024-07-09T20:39:05.042Z"}
